Getting started with zipmend
I'm looking for a full-time job as a driver, is zipmend the right place?
We do not offer employment. We offer transport contracts to self-employed subcontractors. You will need a commercial registration and a vehicle.
Do I have to send an application?
No, we do not need a formal application. Just
sign up for free. Afterwards, upload the necessary documents and get started.
Is using your website free?
Yes, signing up and using our service is completely free.
How often will I receive orders?
We cannot offer full capacity but only individual orders. You can see all available transports after logging in. If you are interested in an order, you can place a bid. If we decide to give the order to you, we will call you to discuss the details.
Can I transport shipments from multliple orders at once?
No. If you receive an order from us, you may only carry the shipment from this order on your vehicle. Part loads for trucks are an exception.
Can I become a transport partner if I am not self-employed?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. In order to cooperate with us you will need to be self-employed with a registered business.
Is there a permanent contract between zipmend and their transport partners?
No. There are no permanent contracts. Each order is an independent freight contract.
How and when will I get paid?
We agree on a fixed price for each order. You can see our price proposal online. You may accept this price or change it. After completing the transport, you will send us your invoice and the CMR/delivery receipt. We will pay your invoice within 14 days of receipt.
Can I become a transport partner without a vehicle?
No, we can only give offers to transport partners with their own vehicles.
Is a car sufficient for carrying out transports?
Yes, you can sign up with a car. Cars are sufficient for small shipments, for example documented deliveries (letters).

Where can I upload my documents?
After signing up you can log in with your email and password. On your profile page, you can upload your commercial registration and carrier insurance.
How long does it take until my documents are verified?
Documents are usually verified within 7 days after uploading the documents.
What is a carrier insurance?
Carrier insurance covers damage to cargo during transportation. It protects the owner of the cargo from financial losses. These can be caused by damaged, lost or stolen goods. This insurance is especially important when transporting valuable goods that have a high risk of loss or damage. Please note that a carrier insurance is not the same as a car insurance or business liability insurance.
What is a business registration?
Anyone who becomes self-employed must register with the relevant authority that they are operating a business. This registration is necessary to be able to carry out the activity of his business officially and legally.
How do I obtain a business registration?
In order to obtain a business registration, you must make an appointment with the responsible trade or regulatory office. All important documents about the company must be provided there.
What is bank account verification?
The bank account verification is a process by which zipmend verifies the authenticity and ownership of a bank account.
Why is it necessary to verify my bank account?
Verifying your bank account ensures that all parties interacting with zipmend are legitimate, which contributes to a trustworthy business relationship.
For a smooth verification process, we recommend that you fill in the requested information carefully and completely.
Find and receive transport orders
How can I find transport orders?
After registration and activation by our team, you can log in to our portal. You can then place bids for transport orders under the "Find transports" tab. After you place your bid, you will be contacted by our team in case we decide to give this order to you.
Will I receive an order automatically when I place a bid?
Submitting a bid does not automatically ensure that you will receive the order. Our team looks at all bids for an order and also considers factors like the distance to the pickup location. If we decide to award the contract to you, we will contact you by phone. No further action is necessary after placing your bid.
You can only cancel a placed bid but you cannot change it. If you want to offer an order at a different price, you must withdraw the current bid and then submit a new one. To withdraw a bid, follow these steps:
1. Login with your email
2. Click on "Find Transports" in the menu
3. Select "Your bids"
4. Select the transport
5. Click on "Retract this bid" at the bottom of the transport details
Billing / Invoicing
Where should I sent my invoice to?
The invoices can be sent by mail to
invoice@zipmend.com after completing a transport. Please make sure that the invoice and delivery receipt are attached to the mail as separate files.
What details should my invoice contain?
Here you can find sample invoices for entrepreneurs from Germany, from the EU and small entrepreneurs. On these samples you can see what information is necessary for the invoice.
My company is not located in Germany, do I have to pay attention to anything in the invoice?
If the courier partner's registered office is not in Germany, the so-called reverse charge procedure applies. This means that the recipient of the service must bear the tax burden. In this case, zipmend GmbH is the recipient of the service, as the courier partners provide the service for zipmend, namely the transport of goods. For invoicing, this specifically means that the courier partner may only invoice the net amount for the courier order, NOT the VAT. Therefore, invoices must be issued with 0% VAT.
What is a CMR/POD/delivery receipt?
A delivery receipt or CMR confirms that a shipment was delivered to a specific recipient at a specific time. This document is often used in logistics and freight management. The purpose is to track the status of the delivery and confirm that it has been properly delivered. If a defect is not documented when the goods are picked up, the recipient cannot determine, for example, whether the goods were already defective when they were picked up or whether the damage only occurred during transport. "POD" is another term for the delivery receipt, it is an abbreviation for the English term "Proof of Delivery".
Can an order be invoiced without delivery document(s)?
No. To be able to invoice an order,
we always need the delivery receipt for the order. Send us an email to
invoice@zipmend.com with the invoice attached and the proof of delivery as another attachment (2 attachments).
Other questions
What if I don't receive a CMR/delivery receipts at the loading place?
You should always carry a blank set of CMR's in your vehicle. You can then fill it out at the loading point and have it signed. You can download a blank CMR on our page.
Important: If you do not receive paperwork at the loading dock, you MUST fill out a CMR yourself and have it signed. Without this proof, we will not be able to pay your invoice later.
Can I change my vehicle data, like plate number, driver and phone number?
To change vehicle data simply log in and click on "Vehicles" in the menu. Here you have the option to update the details of your your vehicles, drivers and phones.
What happens if a shipment is damaged during transport?
If the shipment is damaged during transportation,
it must be reported to us immediately. Please
take a photo of the damage and send it to
mail@zipmend.com. You can also call us and discuss the damage.
What happens if I am late?
In the event of a delay, please contact us as soon as possible. Our team will take care of communicating the delay to the loading or unloading place.
