Hamburg-based direct delivery specialist zipmend remains firmly in the fast lane: in the past year alone, the company won over 13,000 new clients for its transport service. With consistent digitalisation, internationalisation and a fleet expansion from small vans to 40-tonne lorries, zipmend demonstrates what modern logistics can look like.

The growing number of shippers placing their trust in the online logistics firm underlines its position as one of the leading players in digital transport logistics. Last year's success can be attributed, among other things, to the broadening of the product range and expansion into key European markets.

When zipmend launched in 2017, the focus was on nimble small vans for the celebrated 'last mile' or urgent courier assignments. Today, the picture looks very different: to meet the rising demands of industry, the company has since added heavy 40-tonne lorries to its portfolio. The scaling is showing results:

  • 40,000 connected vehicles now form part of the partner network.
  • 28 countries are served across the board.
  • From small parcels to multi-tonne full truck loads (FTL), everything is organised from a single source.

"Our technical know-how, combined with a responsive customer service, has enabled this tremendous growth," reports Timm Trede, CEO of zipmend. Despite a lean company structure, zipmend handles an impressive volume of shipments.

A large share of the new clients comes from the mid-sized manufacturing sector. Added to these are international companies restructuring their European supply chains. The common denominator: shipments where multiple transhipments through a groupage network are simply not an option. Via the price calculator, shippers receive a binding fixed price before booking — without enquiries or waiting time.

With the massive tailwind from a successful 2025 in its sails, the zipmend team is now looking ahead to the next stages of expansion, to further advance the digital transformation of European logistics.
