FAQ for customers - Courier service and freight forwarding

There is no minimum size for shipments that you send via zipmend. You can send anything from letters to pallets.

The maximum size for shipments by express courier is 420x210x210 cm.
If you require a larger vehicle, we also offer truck transport. The maximum shipment size here is 13,60 x 4,45 x 2,70 m.

Depending on the vehicle selected, the maximum weight for a delivery in the courier service area is 1.200kg. For vehicles with a lifting platform, the maximum weight for a package is limited to 500kg.

For shipments heavier than 1.200kg, we offer truck transport for up to 24t.

We offer vans in various sizes and trucks up to 24 tonnes. Different load volumes can be booked for the trucks.

The price calculation and order placement do not require registration. We will send you an e-mail as soon as you have sent the transport order. In this e-mail you will find a link that you can use to set a password for your account.

The price of a courier journey depends on the distance and size of your consignment. You can calculate the price for your individual transport requirements in our price calculator in just a few seconds. Depending on the route, you can book a courier journey with us from as little as €49.

The price for lorry transport depends on the distance and size of your shipment. You can calculate the price for your individual transport requirements in our price calculator in just a few seconds. Depending on the route, you can book a truck transport with us from as little as €149.

The packaging guidelines require complete packaging, consisting of suitable outer packaging, suitable inner packaging and a secure closure. The outer packaging must protect the contents in such a way as to prevent them from falling out, damaging other consignments or damaging themselves. The inner packaging must stabilise the contents, cushion them against external influences and take into account special protective measures for sensitive items. You can find out more in our GTC.

If you send shipments with our courier vans, you can easily book loading and unloading assistance in the online price calculator. It is important to note that the maximum weight per package that the driver is allowed to lift is 30kg for legal reasons.
It is not possible to book loading and unloading assistance for truck transports.

Large vans and vehicles with a lifting platform can be loaded from the side. For small and medium-sized vans, it must be stated at the time of booking that loading from the side is required.
When booking a truck, loading from the side is also possible.

You can book a large van for top loading. You can find this van in our express price calculator under the vehicle types section. Top loading is only possible with this particular van.
To use this service in the truck sector, please select the additional service "Loading from above". Our disposition department will then find a suitable vehicle for you.

Yes, the consignment will be delivered on your desired date, which you can specify when booking. The journey time and the longer lead time for trucks are automatically taken into account in our price calculator.

The earliest possible collection time is determined and displayed in our online price calculator.
In the courier sector (consignments up to 1,200kg), your consignment can be collected within 120 minutes. Exceptions are vehicles with a lifting platform, where it can take up to 180 minutes for a vehicle to arrive on site.
For trucks up to 12t we require a lead time of at least 6 hours, for trucks up to 24t a lead time of at least 22 hours.

After placing the order, you will receive a transport confirmation from us and from then on you will be informed by e-mail about the current status of the transport.
If you are logged in with us, you can also view your current status and other details in your profile.

Yes, you will receive a delivery confirmation for every delivery. Bills of lading are only sent on request.

Our standard insurance is 8.33 SDR/KG (approx. 10 EUR per KG).
If the value of your consignment exceeds the standard insurance value, you can take out optional additional insurance with us for the respective consignment.

Companies with an appropriate credit rating can pay on account.

No, unfortunately we do not organise removals.

Collection and delivery are neutral, i.e. neither the sender nor the recipient knows the exact address of loading or unloading. The delivery note does not reveal to the collector or recipient who the sender or recipient is. This means that the information about the parties actually involved remains confidential and is not disclosed on the delivery note.
